Rabbit Den Farm’s 2024 bare root plant sale is open for orders! I’m excited to again be offering a nice selection of locally grown* bare root plants and trees at affordable prices. We’ve got a few new offerings for 2024 including Asparagus crowns, Triple crown thornless blackberries, Sochan, Pecan trees, Elderberries, and seed potatoes.

Orders will be available for local pick up (sorry, no shipping) March 9th & 10th at the Organic Growers School in Mars Hill, NC or at Rabbit Den Farm located 10 minutes from Mars Hill and Marshall, 35 minutes from Asheville.
Why buy bare root? Healthier root systems: plants do not get root bound in their pots. More sustainable: buying bare root plants eliminates the need for plastic pots and imported potting soils. Better timing: Bare root plants are dormant, so they have time to get there roots established before leafing out. Cheaper: yeah they are cheaper than potted plants!
Plants: Echinacea purperea, Comfrey, Sochan, Eastern Columbine, Wild Geranium, Black Raspberry, Thornless Blackberry (Triple Crown), Potato Onions, Asparagus, Seed Potatoes (Kennebec, Red Maria)
Trees: Elderberry, Persimmon, Hazelnut, Red Mulberry, Hardy Pecan, Fringe Tree, River Birch, Witch Hazel, Red Bud.
